Personal Hygiene

Are you aware that your personal hygiene habits can affect your health?

Practicing good hygiene makes you feel good about yourself and feeling good about yourself  improves mental health.

Do you stand naked in front of the mirror once a week to inspect your body and look for any changes in your body, skin, hair? You should, getting to know your body better means you will become aware sooner when something is wrong.

Good grooming can ward off illnesses even showering on a regular basis, our skin is our biggest detoxifier and showering opens pores so you can scrub off the constant skin shedding. As we all know, washing our hands regularly helps stop the spread of colds and bacteria.

Soaking in a tub with Epsom salts is a great way to end the day and calm your body and mind and detoxify your body. Instead of buying pre-made scents, buy some essential oils and add some salt to a ziploc bag and then add drops of your preferred oil and give it a shake. Add half to the bath at the beginning of water flow and the other half just before your tub is full.

Sleep hygiene is also important. A lot of people struggle with sleep, I am one of them. Having a night time routine definitely helps and prying yourself away from your phone, or any electronic devices an hour before bed helps a lot. Clean sheets are part of sleep hygiene, your skin sheds a lot and having a clean comfy bed goes a long way to helping you get a good night's sleep.

If you start paying attention to your personal hygiene and taking care of it on a regular basis, you have started a good habit. You are worth it!
